The Breathing App (TBA) is a mobile application that is based on the concept of resonance. Resonance, also known as the coherence of our heart rate, heart rate variability, blood pressure, and brainwave function, can occur when we breathe at a slower pace of five to seven breaths per minute instead of our usual 15-18 breaths. This technique leads to a state of calm and restful alertness, along with various other benefits.

Resonance has a profound impact on our body, nervous system, and emotions by restoring balance through the harmonization of the complementary branches of our autonomic nervous system. These branches control vital functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and respiration.

Extensive scientific research has been conducted on resonant breathing, highlighting its numerous advantages which include inflammation reduction, stress reduction, improved sleep quality, increased resilience, and enhanced cardiovascular function.

Our autonomic nervous system consists of two branches - the sympathetic branch responsible for activating us and the parasympathetic branch responsible for relaxation. By practicing resonant breathing, we establish equilibrium between these two branches. In our fast-paced modern world, we tend to lean towards acceleration, but through conscious breathing techniques like resonance, we can consciously apply the brakes to restore balance and promote calmness.

Maintaining balance in our sympathetic overdrive society is crucial for optimal functioning. The Breathing App teaches you how to regulate your breath consciously and cool down in order to combat anxiety, distraction, and excessive stress. Toning the vagus nerve by using this app can reduce inflammation and promote a state of restful alertness and mental clarity.

Resonant breathing serves as a reset button for stress, allowing us to regain control and find tranquility amidst the chaos of modern life.

The individuals behind The Breathing App have contributed their expertise to its development:
